  • Abstract摘要

Many properties of the cosmos that we observe today are the result of nonequilibrium quantum processes in the early universe. While semi-classical Boltzmann equations in many cases offer a reasonably good description, there are situations in which their ad-hoc use introduces uncontrollable uncertainties. The Closed Time Path Formalism offers a systematic way to derive quantum kinetic equations from first principles in a series of controlled approximations. We discuss two applications related to the origin of matter in the universe, namely cosmic reheating and leptogenesis.
